Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and Union Station serve as major entry points for students, staff, faculty, and visitors arriving to Los Angeles from faraway destinations. Getting to UCLA/Westwood is easy, affordable, and efficient, even without a personal vehicle.
From LAX
Public Transit
The easiest and most efficient way to take public transit from LAX to UCLA/Westwood is via Culver CityBus Line6 or R6.
- Upon arriving at LAX, exit the terminal on the Lower/Arrivals Level.
- Look for the pink LAX Shuttle sign and board the LAX City Bus Center shuttle. The shuttle is free and runs every 10-15 minutes daily (no service between 2 a.m. and 4 a.m.).
- Walk to the Culver CityBus stop and board either Line 6 or R6 northbound towards UCLA/Westwood. Buses run every 10-15 minutes depending on the day of the week (view the schedule). Those without a TAP card can purchase one at the TAP machine located at the LAX City Bus Center.
Pro Tip: Bruins with either a Commuter All Access Pass, undergraduate U-Pass, or Bruin Grad Pass can ride the Culver CityBus 6 or R6 at no additional cost. - Bruins may disembark at Westwood Village, the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center, or Gateway Plaza depending on their final destination.
Ride-Hail
Uber and Lyft both serve the UCLA campus and can be taken from the LAX-it ride-hail lot just a short walk from Terminal 1. Those unable to walk may ride a free LAX-it shuttle at any terminal on the Lower Level. Shuttles run every 15 minutes and can be picked up under the green LAX-it sign.
From Union Station
Union Station is the main terminus of many regional rail (Metrolink) and local transit (LA Metro) lines.
