UCLA Earns National Recognition as a 2026 Best Workplace for Commuters

Leading the way once again, for the eighth consecutive year, UCLA has landed a spot on the annual list of the top workplaces for commuters in the nation by offering its employees, as well as students, benefits for biking, carpooling, and taking public transit that meet a national standard of excellence.

A national authority on workplace commuter benefits, BWC recognizes companies, centers, government offices, colleges and universities, and other organizations across the United States and Canada that support their employees with beneficial transportation options.

Faculty, staff, and students at UCLA never miss the bus when it comes to commuter benefits. Transportation choices for Bruins include free and subsidized transit pass programs, discounted carpool parking, electric vehicle charging stations with high-powered, fast chargers available in structures and lots, vanpool providers that service the campus, and a guaranteed ride home program for eligible employees.

A designated Gold-level Bicycle Friendly University, UCLA incentivizes bike riding, with amenities like ample racks and lockers for parking, DIY repair stands, a bike shop on campus, Metro Bike Share, e-bike purchase program through the University of California, and for qualified employees exchanging their parking permit a package that includes a free $900 bicycle as well as a set of lights, lock, and helmet.

There are also daily parking permits. With this flexibility, a UCLA commuter can drive in one day and ride in a vanpool the next.

Sustainable transportation programs support Bruins getting to and from campus, making trips smoother, lowering costs, and reducing stress, enabling them to thrive at work. Exceptional commuter benefits are a win-win for the Bruin workforce and UCLA, also helping reduce traffic congestion and improve air quality.

“UCLA understands that commuter benefits are an investment in people — and help the university succeed. We are proud to recognize UCLA with the 2026 Best Workplace for Commuters honor,” said Julie Bond, BWC Program Director.
