Is LA traffic causing you delays? Then Captain Commute is here to save the day! He’s helping Bruins fight gridlock by encouraging them to “Ditch the Drive!” during Sustainable Transportation Month this October.
You don’t need superpowers to conquer the stress of driving alone to campus. Just use a sustainable form of transportation such as walking, biking, taking transit, carpooling, or telecommuting. We make it easy with fare-free and subsidized transit passes, resources for bicyclists, discounted carpool parking permits, and the complimentary BruinBus campus shuttle.
Pledge to try sustainable transportation during October and you’ll be entered to win great prizes such as Target gift cards and UCLA Football tickets! And join us at our on-campus events to spin the prize wheel and learn all about our sustainable transportation options:
- Monday, Oct. 2, from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. at Lu Valle Commons
- Tuesday, Oct. 3, from 9 a.m. – noon at the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center
- Wednesday, Oct. 4 from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. at Rendezvous on Rieber Terrace
Plus, we’ll be hosting our Sustainable Transportation Fair at Bruin Plaza on Thursday, Oct. 5, from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. where you can interact with vendors and enjoy fun giveaways!
Be sure to follow Captain Commute’s adventures all month long on Facebook, Instagram, X (formerly Twitter), and TikTok. He reminds you that by reducing congestion and greenhouse emissions, you’re the hero when you take sustainable transportation!
