The campus roadway speed limit — lower than most typical city streets — helps keep trafficked areas at UCLA safer for drivers, bicyclists, and pedestrians. This speed limit applies to all campus streets, including Charles Young Drive, which circles campus; Westwood Plaza, which flows seamlessly from Westwood Boulevard onto campus; and Kinross Avenue between the Gayley alley and Veteran Avenue in Westwood Village. UCLA's designated speed limit helps increase safety, making the campus healthier overall by encouraging more Bruins to walk, bike, and use other forms of active transportation.
