The campus roadway speed limit — lower than most typical city streets — helps keep traffic areas at UCLA safer for drivers, bicyclists, scooter and skateboard riders, as well as pedestrians. UCLA's speed restriction for motor vehicles and personal electric mobility devices applies to all campus streets, including Charles Young Drive, which circles the campus; Westwood Plaza, which flows seamlessly from Westwood Boulevard onto campus; and Kinross Avenue between the Gayley alley and Veteran Avenue in Westwood Village. The designated speed limit helps better protect the 90,000 Bruins and visitors who arrive here daily, keeping UCLA a welcoming and safe place for everyone, whether on foot, two wheels, or four.
