How We're Making UCLA's Fleet More Efficient

UCLA Transportation Fleet

UCLA Transportation has been hard at work over the past year greening the campus fleet and reducing costs, passing the savings on to university departments. Here is what we've accomplished to serve our customers better:

  • National recognition by the NAFA Fleet Management Association
  • Reducing campus-wide vehicle costs fiscal year-over-year by over $430,000
  • Approximately 60% of UCLA's fleet is alternative-fueled, including flex-fuel, renewable natural gas, battery-electric, and plug-in hybrid
  • Fiscal year-over-year reductions in fuel consumption on campus by over 575,000 gallons and GHG emissions by over 1,900 metric tons
  • Partnering with campus and academic departments on specialty projects such as an autonomous vehicle for UCLA Samueli Engineering
  • Assisting with vehicle donations including a customized shuttle bus given to UCLA Health's Operation Mend
  • Increased fiscal year-over-year satisfaction survey results
    • Vehicle Maintenance (81% to 82%)
    • BruinBus (82% to 90%)
    • Vehicle Procurement (88% to 95%)
