It’s Bike Week! What better way to celebrate than by trying out one of these amazing bike trails that are here right in your backyard? Trust us, this is a list you won’t want to pass up.

  1. Marvin Braude Bike Trail: First on our list of the Best Bike Trails in L.A is the Marvin Braude Bike Trail, aka “The Strand.” Starting on Will Rogers State Beach, this bike trail stretches a total of 22 miles, taking you on a trip through the entire Pacific Palisades area. This beautiful stretch provides a picture perfect cruise for bicyclists and tourist hoping to experience many of L.A.'s beloved beach towns, such as Marina del Rey, Venice, Santa Monica, Manhattan, Redondo and Hermosa.
  1. Griffith Park Bike Loop: Griffith Park, also known as the largest park in Los Angeles, has much more to bring to the table than just the L.A. Zoo, Greek Theatre, and the Griffith Observatory. It’s also home to a beautifully scenic and green nine mile bike loop famously known as the Griffith Park Bike Loop. Cyclist have the option of starting from the northern tip by taking Zoo Drive at Riverside Drive or they can advance from the south by taking Crystal Springs Drive at Los Feliz Boulevard. These two routes eventually join and form the famous loop. Don’t have a bike? No problem! Rental bikes are available inside the park.

  1. The Donut: Known for its vintage feel and historic significance, The Donut in Palos Verdes is one of the oldest loops here in LA dating all the way back to the late 1960’s. This loop stands as a 28-mile directly following Palos Verdes Drive and along the Palos Verdes Peninsula from the south to the east and looping right back around.
  1. Santa Clarita Cloverleaf: Neighboring the Santa Clara River, this trail contains many picture perfect scenes along its great selection of recreational space for all cyclers. This bike trail is also very safe as anyone who chooses to ride through this awesome trail can also look for bike lockers just in case you want to talk a walk through some of the nearby parks.
  1. Ballona Creek Bike Path: This bike trail, which connects the coast and Culver City,directly follows the fabulous waterway for about 7 miles. This trail contains breathtaking views of the Ballona Wetlands, the Baldwin Hills and the Santa Monica Mountains. Start from above the Marvin Braude Bike Trail in Playa del Rey and take a stroll all the way down to Syd Kronenthal Park in east Culver.

Metro Orange Line Bike Path: Beginning at the North Hollywood Metro station at Chandler Boulevard and following the east valley, you will head up Orange Line Stations, where you will hit the one and only, Metro Orange Line Bike Path.  Choose from class II and I levels which are made available to all riders available at this specific bike path. The best part about this path is that you won’t have to worry about parking if you are hauling your bike as this locations is adjacent from the MTA bus-way.  Bike lockers and racks are also offered by the Metro Stations.
  1. Sepulveda River Basin Loops: This grandiose trail loops around the 2000-acre Sepulveda Basin Recreation Area. It is also known for being a very friendly filled space for all kinds of bird life. This path is also one of the very few locations where you can see the Los Angeles River in its natural form. While this 9 mile loop may seem like a long ways to go, it is recommended to take the 2.5-mile section of the path that passes through Lake Balboa Park and Woodley Avenue Part's. Basic amenities are also provided along with some awesome outdoors activities such as boating and equipment rentals, fishing, golf courses, and baseball fields.
  1. Long Beach Bike Path: The Long Beach Bike Path, which starts Shoreline Village, stands as a 17-foot-wide concrete trail that provides a beautiful sight of the nearby lighthouse and cuts through the beach and leads you straight to Alamitos Bay. For more rides around the LBC, click here.
  1. Beverly Hill Star Home Loop: Want to take a peek at some celebrity homes that can only be seen in movies?  If so, then this is the perfect ride for you. On top of this peaceful and exciting journey that you will have on this trail, there is also a Self-Guided Movie Star Homes Bike Tour nearby. Available 365 days a year,this path is approximately 3 hours long. But, do not expect a flat path as this place isn't called Beverly Hills for nothing.
