Hybrid schedules are now the new normal for many Bruins who are blending remote and on-campus work or study. With some commutes no longer daily, UCLA Transportation offers flexible options for those who only occasionally come to campus.
Daily Discounted Parking
UCLA employees who do not have a regular UCLA parking permit can purchase daily discounted parking through the Bruin ePermit Portal. This is an excellent option for employees who come to campus fewer than 13 times a month, or those who commute using a sustainable option such as public transit but still need to drive at times. Daily discounted permits may only be purchased for same-day use and should be purchased before arriving on campus.
Professional school and commuter students also have the option to purchase daily discounted parking. This daily discounted student permit will be re-evaluated prior to the start of each quarter moving forward and is subject to change based upon space availability.
UCLA Co-Pay
For Bruins who ride transit but not frequently enough to need a pass, the UCLA Co-Pay provides discounted fare on Santa Monica Big Blue Bus (BBB) and Culver City Bus (CCB). The Co-Pay can be purchased on a UCLA TAP card for $2.00 from the BruinTAP for Transit Portal. Once it's loaded with funds, TAP your card when you board and ride for only $0.70.
BBB will only accept UCLA TAP card payments for the discounted co-pay rate. On CCB you can still pay a discounted co-pay rate of $0.80 without a UCLA TAP card by showing your BruinCard to the driver.
Metro Bike Share
Metro Bike Share makes bike riding easy with docking stations all across LA including two on campus at Gateway Plaza and Perloff Hall. Bikes can be unlocked with the Metro Bike Share app or with a TAP card if you’re enrolled on the TAP website. For the occasional ride Metro offers a 1-ride or 24-hour pass, and for more regular riders there are monthly and yearly passes. Students are eligible for discounted passes through the Reduced Fare program and can enroll for a reduced fare TAP card.
