Starting this weekend, Santa Monica Big Blue Bus (BBB) rides to campus will get even smoother. Service changes are coming for Routes 1, 2, 8 and Rapid 12 that have stops at UCLA. The following adjustments will go into effect on Sunday, February 16:
- Route 1 – Minor schedule adjustments on all days to help keep buses on time.
- Route 2 – Minor schedule adjustments on all days for better reliability.
- Route 8 – Schedule adjustments on all days to help keep buses on time.
- Rapid 12 – On weekdays, more frequent northbound service during peak morning and midday hours and more frequent southbound service during peak afternoon and evening hours. On weekends, minor schedule adjustments to help keep buses on time.
UCLA commuters can expect improvements in service dependability and timeliness with the new adjustments. BBB's six different routes serving Hilgard Terminal and Gateway Plaza make it a convenient transportation choice for Bruins coming from the Westside. The University offers two options for faculty, staff, and students to ride BBB at a discounted price: a BruinGO! pass good for unlimited rides all quarter for frequent riders, or the Co-Pay option for a reduced one-way fare of $0.70 for occasional riders. BBB regularly rolls out service improvements to improve the passenger experience, including on board Wi-Fi and solar-powered bus stop lights and real-time arrival displays. Schedule and bus arrival information, and service alerts, can be conveniently accessed via Google Maps and the Transit app, further helping Bruins make their transit commute a smooth ride.
