Ditch the car and ride the bus, rail, and bike share for free on Earth Day

Earthset captured through the Orion spacecraft during the Artemis II crew’s flyby of the Moon.

On Wednesday, April 22, LA Metro, including Metro Bike Share and Metro Micro, Santa Monica Big Blue Bus, Culver CityBus, LADOT, and Metrolink, are all encouraging eco-friendly alternatives to driving alone by offering free rides in honor of Earth Day.

Using public transit rather than a car lowers CO2 emissions by 55%. Choosing a bike over a car just once a day reduces the average person's carbon footprint by 67%.

LA Metro is once again celebrating Earth Day with free rides on buses, trains, Metro Bike, and Metro Micro on Wednesday, April 22.

Metro Bike Share will also offer free 30-minute rides. Redeem your ride by selecting ‘1-Ride’ at any Metro Bike Share kioskonline or in the Metro Bike Share app, and enter promo code 042226. This code can be redeemed multiple times throughout the day. A credit or debit card is required. Rides longer than 30 minutes are $1.75 for each additional half hour. Electric Metro Bike fees are waived.

The code for free rides on on-demand neighborhood rideshare service Metro Micro is EARTHDAY26.

Save on gas and parking costs, avoid traffic headaches, reduce your carbon footprint, and support a cleaner, greener future with free rides in celebration of Earth Day with Santa Monica Big Blue Bus. Utilizing public transit is a sustainable choice for everyday life.

Hop on board, ride for free, and help reduce your environmental impact while getting where you need to go with free rides on Culver CityBus for Earth Day.

Go green for free! In honor of Earth Day, all rides on LADOT Transit are free! Switching to public transportation helps reduce your carbon footprint and keeps our air cleaner.

And go fare-free on Metrolink, Southern California’s regional passenger rail provider. Riders can travel on any train line, including the Arrow service, with no ticket required: simply step aboard and go. Leave traffic behind and experience a more sustainable, less stressful way to travel across Southern California.

Continue celebrating going green and car-free at this Sunday’s CicLAvia—West LA event, featuring five miles of open streets along Santa Monica Blvd and Westwood Blvd, for Bruins and Angelenos to explore on two wheels, four wheels, or two feet.
