UCLA Support Services, Safety and Reporting Options

UCLA provides programs, services, and educational experiences that promote the academic success of students and support “the mental, social, and physical growth and development of the students in a healthy, safe, and intellectually challenging environment,” while enhancing the quality of campus life. Below are important resources and safety/reporting options:

  • UCPD has blue light emergency call buttons in various locations throughout campus, and can detect your location for immediate assistance. It is advisable to walk with others on- and off-campus.
  • For emergencies, dial “911” from any phone. For general information, assistance, and to make a non-emergency report, call the UCPD 24-hour dispatch line at (310) 825-1491. For more information regarding UCPD’s services, please visit their website.
  • UCPD has an evening escort service from dusk until 1 a.m. Call (310) 794-WALK (9255) at least 15 minutes before you need to leave, and a Community Service Officer (a trained student who carries a two-way radio and pepper spray) will walk with you anywhere on campus, as well as to surrounding areas off-campus.
  • UCPD also has an Evening Van Service, which provides transportation between campus buildings, on-campus housing and nearby residential areas during the evening hours. For more information, call (310) 825-9800.
